Founded in Brooklyn, NY by Keiko Hirosue. k* shoes are created with a strong belief that beauty does not demand sacrifices in comfort and versatility. The silhouettes can run from day to night, and expert construction guarantees great fit and comfort.

After several years training through classes at a nearby community center and apprentice with local artists, Keiko began hand-crafting one-of-a-kind pairs of shoes that reflected her love of active life in the city; walking, biking, & dancing, colors, texture and above all, craftmanship. In 2006, she started teaching her own workshops at the Brooklyn Artists Gym. Inspired by the cooperative environment generated within her classes, Keiko soft-launched k* for Fall of 2009, a collection as a continuation of her vision: chic silhouettes that can be worn from day to night, and expert construction that guarantees great fit and comfort. 

Fall 2012 collection will be her first season to create all her styles in NYC. Keiko believes in the future of manufacturing in NYC and has a vision to bring back footwear manufacturing to Brooklyn.
